Vince Gill has the best taste. He's been a champion for women of country music, writing on and producing Ashley Monroe's records and now joining Logan Brill on the Opry stage.
"I Wish You Loved Me" is a song on Brill's 2015 effort Shuteye. The song closed the record, and it was written by Jordyn Shellhart and Don Schlitz. It's a beautiful ballad, the kind that country music is known for. The lyric "I wish you loved me as much as you don't" is the kind of heartbreaking lyric that stays with you, or at least it's stayed with me.
The harmonies Gill provides in the performance take the song to a new level of beautiful. Brill and Gill are a power duo, and hopefully they'll continue performing together in the future.
