Kacey Musgraves has become a superstar faster than most country singers. She has had critical acclaim, hits on the radio, as well as praise from many artists outside country music. This is her first release since her wildly popular debut album. Musgraves released this quirky song after it became a fan favorite. She played it on tour, and even played it at the Grand Ole Opry, but it wasn't on her debut album, Same Trailer Different Park. Weird that it wasn't on the album, even though it's name is "The Trailer Song." But, due to popular demand, she released the song on iTunes on June 17, 2014.
"Trailer" is a typical Musgraves song, with the bizarre lyrics and Americana influenced production. The words speak of a nosy neighbor, who Musgraves even goes so far as to call a "nosy bitch." It is an acoustic guitar driven song, but by the chorus is strong with slide guitars. "Trailer" doesn't outshine any of the songs on Same Trailer Different Park, because even with it's funny lyrics, just sounds like it should have just been a Target bonus track on the album or something. The production is a bit bland, and it doesn't show any improvement for Musgraves from her 2013 album. It's just the same of the same. It is a good song, though, and is sure to make some Musgraves fans happy to have new music from her.
