Canadian country rocker Stevie Jewel is gearing up to release her new EP on Friday. But today, you can listen to the record early, exclusively on Queens of Country.
Empowering women is a cause close to Jewel’s heart, and with this project, she is attempting to make a real difference. The proceeds of her single “Told You So” will benefit the Canadian Women’s Foundation, a foundation that aims to empower women and move them out of poverty and violence and into confidence and leadership positions. The Phoenix Story is a project full of songs that promote confidence in women, and Jewel hopes that her music can touch women across Canada and across the world. “I believe that women can accomplish anything they set their minds to, and my hope is that my music can inspire women to be the hero in their own story,” Jewel said.
The EP kicks of with “Earthquake,” setting the stage with a man who wants to hold her down, but soon learns he never will. The rest of the songs echo that sentiment, creating an overall empowering experience for the listen. The project also features the spunky lead single, “Told You So.”
Listen to The Phoenix Story a day early right here on Queens of Country! The record will be out on Friday, March 2.
