This is an interesting perspective to take, because as humans, we tend to root for the underdogs. We root for the nerds in the classic high school movies over the football players. Marta crafts a narrative of her as one of those popular people, the people that we love to hate as a society. But by showing the more negative side of that culture, Marta succeeds in providing a greater connection between all humans. Outside the realm of high school, she makes the statement that even if a person seems like they have a perfect life, they may not be as happy as you think.
