Megan & Liz have been doing great things recently. Newly initiated into the country music world, they have been constantly involved in everything that's been going on. They have continued hosting the weekly show "This Week In The Nation" for My Country Nation, talking to all of the hottest up and coming country stars, as well as discussing the hottest topics on social media today. Additionally, they have continued working on new music, and this is the first track they have released that was written and recorded in Nashville, representative of their new sound and direction.
This track is undeniably Megan & Liz's best offering yet. The duo mixes country with pop, to get the modern country sound that is so popular today. There is definite Sam Hunt influence, in the broken down vocals at the beginning, but still has acoustic based production with acoustic guitar and mandolins clucking throughout the whole track. The lyrics are classic Megan & Liz: thought provoking, and a bit out of the box, but still relatable to all girls, and all people in general. They take classic concepts and rework them to fit their own lives, and make them unique. That is the sign of a gifted songwriter, which both these two have proven themselves to be.
It seems that at last Megan & Liz have finally found their sound. It's a difficult transition, switching from pop to country, and the girls have done it remarkably gracefully. They've tried out pure pop, and they've tried out traditional country production, but this track is the first track that embodies their pop influences, as well as their country roots incredibly well. This is the epitome of the new Megan & Liz sound.
